MAJOR ACTIVITIES

We define two broad functional areas within PMCH: (1) professional training and provision of professional preventive services and (2) clinical and population health science research, graduate education, and collaborations.

Professional Training and Provision of Professional Preventive Services
Our Preventive Medicine Residency Program trains residents in Aerospace Medicine and General Preventive Medicine. Our Public Health Program offers a professional epidemiology-focused MPH to medical students, doctoral students, residents, fellows, and faculty at the university. We provide elective courses in preventive medicine and public health to medical and graduate students. As an integral part of our professional training programs, faculty and trainees provide clinical and community based preventive services.

Research, Graduate Education, and Collaborations
PMCH faculty members are active investigators and collaborators on projects across the research continuum—from basic science to clinical science to health services research to population health sciences. We partner with colleagues across campus, providing behavioral, epidemiological, and biostatistical expertise and leadership. We administer graduate degree programs in Population Health Sciences and Clinical Science to train the next generation of scientists and scholars.
