Aerospace Medicine Center

The UTMB Health Aerospace Medicine Center supports pilots in their quest to fly with medical evaluations and flight physicals. Benefiting from the clinical expertise and resources of a large academic health center, the Aerospace Medicine Center has the ability to work through difficult certification issues for pilots and coordinate sub-specialty exams at one site providing "one stop shopping" for pilots. Our physicians are able to address complicated medical problems, loss of medical certificate, special issuance and provide special testing.

Dr. Vanderploeg is approved by Virgin Galactic, LLC to perform spaceflight participant screening exams.
